What a flooring repair scope usually covers
- Repairing in place
- Individual boards, planks and tiles can usually be lifted and replaced without redoing the room, as long as matching material still exists. Blending into an older, faded or discontinued floor is the part that decides whether a spot repair will look right.
- What gets checked underneath
- Soft spots, movement and squeaks are checked before anything new goes down. Putting new flooring over a subfloor problem hides it rather than fixing it.
- Transitions and trim
- Thresholds, transition strips, baseboard and shoe molding are reset as part of the repair, because a plank cannot be swapped without releasing the edges.
